Ah, I see. The gods of my world make music, and it's...an experience like none other. Freya, as well, is the name of a god where I come from. It was...a curiosity, I suppose, for her to be named in a similar fashion to the myths of my world. That's...my field of study, I should clarify. Theology and pantheon studies.
But if you are looking for movies, perhaps you may try the Lord of the Rings? Does that even exist here? I'm not quite sure. Perhaps they have something similar? I've always been partial to high fantasy.
That IS strange...perhaps her world has similar lore, and hers is a name picked with that meaning in mind? I've found maybe a couple familiar names from across worlds...or things that sound similar, myself. Have you been collecting such coincidences as you find them, then? As for this Lord of the Rings, I'll make a note to seek it out. Perhaps something similar exists, in the same way some names are common?
I have been, yes! Collecting this sort of data is fantastic for further research. I'm thinking of collecting the similarities from different worlds, and compiling the data for a book. Perhaps to go with a book of import stories and myths. I think there would be many missed opportunities if I don't take the time to look at all these different opportunities.
And I believe there must be. It's a... rather...famous tale. It's loosely based on an opera, that is loosely based on myths from my world.
I find the tale...timeless, I suppose you could say.
I think that's a wonderful idea. A record of all the common threads woven in age-old legends? Where much may still alienate us, that's one thing I'm sure would make the most wayward of us feel closer. And maybe I, too, will sense some familiar things in that story. I'll be certain to let you know if I do!
Well, I suppose I don't mind... Only, I'm not sure what I can offer, save for a small handful of old legends and fairy tales from when I was small. There wasn't much time left for study back home, I'm afraid.
Duly noted! I'll try to recall some of the better stories from my youth to share. Let me first recount them with my cousin, so as to be certain I'm remembering them right.
[as long as he personally kisses every burger that leaves his restaurant then i GUESS it's ok.]
Well, I would hope, given your desire to learn all you can of myths and legends, that you'll find yourself an opportunity to meet him. Perhaps then you'll find out there's even more to learn than what you already know?
Then I hope a meeting is not too far in the future for you. In the meanwhile, I can hear the dogs stirring, so someone must be home. I'll be sure to speak to you later, Doctor. Please have a good rest of your day.

Why no, I'm afraid I haven't met him.
But the name is familiar! There is an Odin in my world's mythology. In fact, I've heard he's here as well.

Is that Odin directly the same as the one your stories tell of?

But yes, as far as we know, he is. Although he's one of the few I haven't really met.
